International Institute of Business Studies (IIBS) Announces Collaboration with SAP, SIEMENS

Mumbai, Apr 8: International Institute of Business Studies (IIBS), one of the leading management academic institutions, announced its collaboration with SAP and its delivery partner Siemens IT Solutions & Services P. Ltd (SISPL) to offer SAP education services at its Bangalore, Noida and Kolkata campuses. The SAP® University Alliances program - “U-Academy” will be made available to all IIBS MBA students of September, 2010 batch onwards.

IIBS has also collaborated with SISPL under which SISPL would provide Project Management courses to its students. IIBS would be the first educational partner of SISPL to utilize their expertise in Project Management.

Started in 2008, IIBS today grooms more than 1100 students and offers MBA, BBM, BCA and BCom courses. IIBS will offer SAP and Project Management Course as part of their curriculum, where students can get the advantage of an MBA along with SAP & Project Management Course delivered by SISPL. IIBS students will be able to pursue modules including Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Human Capital Management, Supply Chain Management, Enterprise Process Integration as well as SAP NetWeaver Application Development.

Each year India produces more than 2.5 million university graduates, of which 20% are engineering majors. According to NASSCOM, only 25% of technical graduates are considered employable by the rapidly growing IT and ITeS companies. The report also states that the India’s IT sector will face a shortfall of half a million professionals by 2010. Thus there is a compelling requisite for a strong industry-academia alliance to nurture and further hone skill development.

SAP “U-Academy” program delivered by SISPL will allow IIBS students experience the next generation SAP products and solutions and enable them to address the real world challenges as they join the corporate sector and expand the IT talent across the globe

“There is continuous demand for qualified SAP consultants across India and the globe,” said Dr Jay Prakash Ram, chairman, IIBS. “We have integrated a diverse curricular that simulate multiple environments of an SAP implementation, to enrich the learning effectiveness by replicating on-the job scenarios. We do believe this journey will help us create industry ready professionals to meet the growing skill-set gap that prevails in today’s work environment.”
