Brahmavar: Siddaramaiah is sole voice in state to take on fundamentalists - Y S V Datta

Brahmavara, Aug 7: Former MLA Y S V Datta said Siddaramaiah is the only leader and the sole voice in the state to talk openly against the fundamentalists who have created social unrest in the recent past.

Speaking after inaugurating the Jananayaka Siddaramaiah-75 programme at the Bunts Sangha here on Sunday, August 7, he said Siddaramaiah's voice and opinions would matter the most in coastal Karnataka and Malnad regions in the current circumstances.

Datta said Siddaramaiah neither indulged in politicking nor was he petty minded as a chief minister.



























"He was keen to solve the problems of every legislator as a chief minister and he never compromised on his principles or stance as much as he was clear in thought, commitment and philosophy," he said.

The former legislator said Siddaramaiah never treated the Ahinda community as a vote bank which was proved when he assumed the position of chief minister.

Senior journalist Dinesh Amin Mattoo also spoke.

Senior writer-journalist of Shivamogga B Chandre Gowda presided over the function. Former president of Kundapura Advocates Association S Niranjan Hegde, Karnataka Dalit Sangharsha Samithi member Jayan M, Udupi district Muslim Ookkutta president Ibrahim Saheba Kota, Catholic Credit Co-operative Society president Valerian Menezes, social activist Gowri Kenjuru, CA Society president Sridhar P S and Dr Subramanya Bhat of Byndoor Anjali Hospital were also present.

Advocate Manjunath Giliyaar delivered the welcome address. Shashidhar Hemmadi proposed the vote of thanks and Abhijit Pandeshwara compered the programme. All India Radio artiste Ganesh Gangolli and his team sang some patriotic songs.
