Kundapur: College students protest over delay in exam result announcement, marks cards

Kundapur, Aug 6: Various college students held protests here on Saturday August 6 under the leadership of ABVP over delay in announcement of examination results, failure to issue marks cards and issues in valuation of answer scripts.

Hundreds of students walked in procession from Kundapur Shastri circle till Mini Vidha Soudha urging the university to fulfil their demands. Students of Bhandarkar’s college, Dr B B Hegde college, Basrur Sharada College, Brahmavar SMS College and Koteshwari government first grade college Barkur took part.

The students submitted a memorandum to Kundapur sub division assistant commissioner K Raju warning to gherao the university if their demands are not met.

The assistant commissioner telephoned the university examinations registrar P L Dharma and informed the student’s issues. A C Raju assured to deliver the marks cards by this evening or Monday. “The valuations were delayed because professors did not arrive. A detailed letter will be written to the university registrar,” he said.

ABVP Kundapur taluk convener Jayasurya Shetty said that students selected in the recent job fair faced problems as they did not have marks cards. ABVP Mangaluru division’s Ashish Shetty, Bhandarkar’s college’s Vithesh Shetty, Vignesh, Sakshi, Nagesh, Poornachandra, Puneet, Akshay, Sujit, Bhavish, Pramod, Nutan, Dhanush, B B Hegde college’s Darshan, Basrur college’s Ranjith, Rahul, Prajwal, Deepa, Barkur college’s Vaibhavi, Rahul, Vivek, SMS college’s Nishan, Koteshwar college’s Abhi, Chetan and others were present.

“The results of second and third semester examinations were announced a month ago but their marks cards are not distributed. There are discrepancies in the results of the third and fifth semester announced on August 3. The valuations of first semester are too slow,” said the students.
