New York, April 6 (IANS) UN Secretary-general Ban Ki-moon will travel to Washington this week to discuss with US government officials the work of the UN in a number of "critical areas", a UN spokesman said.
Ban will Thursday meet key legislators in the Senate and House of Representatives, including members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Xinhua quoted Martin Nesirky as saying.
Ban will also meet Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the spokesman said.
