HC refuses to interfere with registration of FIRs against teacher for sexual harassment

Bengaluru, Jul 6: The Karnataka High Court has refused to to interfere with the registration of 14 First Information Reports (FIRs) against a physical education teacher of a government school in N R Pura of Chikkamagaluru district on the allegations of sexual harassment/assault based on a complaint lodged by the block education officer and the parents of the victim students.

This order was passed by Justice M Nagaprasanna while rejecting the petitions filed by Prabhunaika K T, who  had questioned the legality of the registration of 14 other different FIRs based on complaints by the parents of the girl students after the registration of the first FIR on January 15, 2022, based on the complaint given by the BEO.
