Health officials also registered a case against those who were running the clinic. Officials confiscated the equipment of the clinic. Rosthi Mathew was allegedly running a clinic without a license in Kallugundi.

The office of the District Health and Family Welfare Department had issued a notice thrice to obtain a registration certificate from Karnataka Ayurvedic and Unani Practitioner's Board through the health department.

But, there was no reply to the notice. Running a clinic with registration from Karnataka Private Medical Establishment is a violation of KPME Act 19. Hence, health department officials and the KPME nodal officer Deepa Prabhu closed down the clinic.
