Mangaluru: 'Youth Day' celebrated at Guardian Angel Church, Angelore

Mangaluru, Jun 27: The Angelore Youth Movement (AYM) of Guardian Angel Church Angelore celebrated the Youth Day on Sunday June 26 at Golden Jubilee Memorial Hall.

The Youth Day commenced with Eucharistic Mass concelebrated by Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza, director of ICYM Mangalore diocese, and Fr Lawrence Cutinha, assistant parish priest. The liturgical responsibility was taken up by AYM members.

The formal and cultural programme was conducted later. The programme was presided by Fr William Menezes, parish priest and Fr Lawrence Cutinha, assistant parish priest along with Noel Pinto, vice president and Lolina D’Souza, secretary of parish pastoral Council.

Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza director of ICYM Mangalore diocese was the chief guest for the cultural programme. Melisha Sony Pinto AYM president and Joylin D’Souza secretary were also present on the dais.

The formal programme started with a prayer song by the youth. Riyani Miranda welcomed the gathering. Joylin D’Souza, AYM secretary presented the Annual report highlighting the various activities carried out by the youth throughout the year.

Sohan D’sa, AYM media representative introduced the Chief Guest. Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza praised and congratulated the AYM members for their hardwork and enthusiasm for carrying out various activities throughout the year. He appreciated the team spirit and the immense talents the youth have which can be showcased through different events. Addressing the gathering.

Fr William Menezes, the parish priest praised the spirit of the youth. He congratulated all the youth and all those who came forward for sponsoring the Youth Day. A list of all the sponsors were presented by Jeethan.

The formal programme came to an end with vote of thanks proposed by Ovin Vinol Pereira, the AYM joint secretary. Sweedal Pais, Melisha Sony Pinto, AYM president and Ethan Sequeria, AYM treasurer compered the formal and cultural programme.

The variety cultural programme was held after the formal programme by the members of AYM which included a fashion show, duet and group dance, group and duet singing and comedy skit.

The programme was great success and appreciated by all.
