Kundapur, Jun 26: RSS leader Dr Kaladka Prabhakar Bhat said it is difficult to describe A G Kodgi's personality just like how it's difficult to describe the Sun.

Speaking at an obeisance programme on Sunday, June 26, at the government high school premises in Amasebail, he said Kodgi was always thinking about how he could contribute to society. Bhat said Kodgi was always thoughtful about how every villager could live happily and with schemes that he had designed. Kodgi had started dairy farming and given it a modern touch while becoming a successful agriculturist. Kodgi had swadeshi ideas and thoughts of nationalism while designing several schemes, he said.

Dr Prabhakar Bhat said Kodgi was someone who followed the path of truth, justice and righteousness and that's why he was regarded as a firm person. He said Kodgi was a learned person with a scientific bent of mind who didn't take any beliefs blindly or without questioning them.

Bhat said Kodgi was a good organiser and had never kept elections in his mind while building the organisation as a president of the district unit of the BJP. Bhat said Kodgi had strengthened the party but had expressed regret over the present day politics during his last days.

Bhat recalled that Kodgi had raised a banner of revolt against corruption besides devising schemes that were flawless. He said Kodgi was a beacon of light to the villagers of Amasebail.

Speaking on the occasion, Karnataka Bank CEO Mahabaleshwara Bhat said Kodgi served as one of the directors in the board of the bank from 1984 to 1992. He said Kodgi was instrumental in the bank adopting Amasebail for devising developmental programmes. Bhat said Kodgi had held discussions with Dr D Veerendra Heggade in implementing a solar power project for Amasebail thus becoming the first solar powered village in the country.

Former MLA Appanna Hegde, Social Welfare Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, Byndoor MLA B M Sukumar Shetty, Backward Classes Commission chairman Jayaprakash Hegde also participated in the obeisance programme.

SCDCC Bank chairman M N Rajendra Kumar, BJP district president K Suresh Naik, MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty, Vedavyas Kamath, A G Kodgi's sons Kiran Kumar Kodgi and Kishore Kumar Kodgi, Brahmavar Sugar Factory chairman Suprasad Shetty, Kundapur BJP president Shankar Ankadakatte, BJP leader Suresh Shetty Gurme and others were also present on the occasion.
