Panaji: Administration Well Attuned to State’s Growth Requirements-Srivastava

Panaji, Mar 15: Chief Secretary Sanjay Srivastava has said that the government is aware of the growth requirements of the state. He said that the government is also aware of the unemployment problem, need to encourage investment in the right areas, need to promote knowledge industry, and protection of environment etc.

Srivastava was speaking as chief guest at the annual day function of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Goa chapter, in the city, yesterday.

Speaking further, he said we should promote green building projects as a concept that is encouraged in India and abroad to protect the environment.

He said that the Goa government is concerned about the problems faced by common men and about 46 percent of the budget is spent on the social sector.

Srivastava launched the Goa chapter of ‘Green Building’. Dr Omkar Goswami, chairman, CERG Advisory Ltd, S Raghupathy of Godrej Green Business Centre,  Dr Prem Jain, chairman, IGBC, Arun Nanda, chairman, CII Western Region, also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier Naveen Kumar, chairman, CII Goa Council, welcomed the guests. Ralph D’Souza, vice–chairman, CII Goa Council, proposed the vote of thanks.
