Mangaluru: Drunken gang attacks beat cops, injures one; three arrested

Mangaluru, June 20: A group of boys who were drinking in a public place in Chilimbi Gudda in Urwa attacked the beat police on duty in the wee hours of Sunday, June 20.

The Urwa police who found the boys drinking at around 1:30 AM approached them to inquire. A few of them misbehaved with the police staff and fled the place after a scuffle. In the melee, two policemen were manhandled and one of them received some injuries to his legs and a hand.

The Urwa police have booked a case and arrested three of the accused.
