50 Booked in Panchwadi for Rioting

Ponda, Mar 12 (TOI): Ponda police on Friday booked around 50 persons for rioting at Panchwadi over the proposed construction of the Codli-Panchwadi bypass road.

Based on counter complaints lodged by two groups from Panchwadi on Friday afternoon, police have named 19 persons while 31 are unknown. While the complaint lodged by Maria Agostino D'Costa names three persons, that filed by Christev D'Costa names 19. The others are unnamed. No arrests had been made till late Friday evening.
