Six from Gujarat clear civil services exam


Ahmedabad, May 31 (IANS): The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Monday declared the results of the civil services exam for 2021. The top three in this year's merit list are all women, with Shruti Sharma securing the top spot, followed by Ankita Agarwal and Gamini Singla.

From Gujarat, six candidates have cleared the test -- Barot Hiren (332nd), Jayveer Gadhvi (341st), Gyanendra Singh Prabhat (483rd), Akshesh Engineer (601st), Kartikeya Kumar (653rd) and Agia Pranav Kumar (665th).

Jayveer Gadhvi (25) from Kutch is currently serving as the Deputy Collector of Vadodara district after topping the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) exams last year. Gadhvi cleared the civil services exam in his second attempt.

A total of 9,214 candidates had qualified for the written exam (mains), which was held in January. A total of 1,824 candidates got through for the personality test and interview, out of which 685 candidates (508 men and 177 women) have been recommended by the Commission for appointment to various services.
