Kaup: Absconding dowry harassment case accused arrested by police

Kaup, May 26: Town police of arrested man, accused in dowry harassment case, who escaped to overseas two years ago, from Mumbai airport.

Nisar Ahmed (33), resident of Shivamogga, first accused in the dowry harassment case was brought to Udupi by Kaup police from Mumbai airport.

According to details, accused Nisar Ahmed married Heena, resident of Udyavar in 2019. He, along with his family members began harassing Heena. In 2020, a case in this connection was filed at Kaup police station.

Nishar Ahmed went abroad and was underground. A LOC (look out circular) was issued in his name.

On May 23, accused Nisar arrived in Mumbai from Dubai. Emigration officers, who had prior information of his absconding, took him into custody and informed Udupi police. Accordingly, police of Kaup station went to Mumbai and brought Nisar to Kaup. He is produced in court which has remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody.
