Bantwal: Students welcomed on Punjalkatte school reopening day

Bantwal, May 16: The reopening day of the primary school section of Punjalkatte Karnataka Public school was celebrated on Monday, May 16. Beltangady MLA Harish Poonja who set in motion the reopening said that all the necessary facilities are made available in the school to provide value based education from pre-primary to degree classes and to shape it as a model school in the state.

“It is the responsibility of all to provide good education to children so that they may become good citizens of the country. The government has planned excellent projects for the same. Children getting education in the government schools can develop high standards,” he said.

Beltangady block education officer Viroopaksha gave details of the facilities available from the department. Mandanthyar gram panchayat president Shashiprabha who chaired the programme said that Punjalkatte Public school is providing value based education and parents should make use of them.

Karnataka Public School pre university college principal Sarojini, high school division vice principal Uday Kumar Jain, Pilatabettu gram panchayat president Harshini Pushpananda, school progress committee president Jayarama Shetty, gram panchayat members Umesh Suvarna, Harish, school progress committee members Bharathi, Yashodha, Somayya, Chandra, Chetana, Diwaker Shetty, Geeta, Mohammed Rafik Prasad, Sumitra, CRP Chetana teachers and parents were present.

Children were taught arithmetic by rice grains. Students were welcomed after lighting Arati. The books donated by the government were distributed to the children. The education officer inaugurated the smart computer screen. The MLA was welcomed in the band procession.

School headmaster Monappa K welcomed. Teacher Dharanendra Jain gave details of the distributions of school books. Teacher Baby Cocess Sequeira rendered a vote of thanks. Teacher Suresh Shetty compered the programme.
