Mangaluru: KCA organizes annual outreach programme 'BOUNDI'

Media Release

Mangaluru, May 14: KCA’s annual outreach programme BOUNDI brought KCA members and their guests of all ages together as one family, in a celebration of life after 26 months of COVID imposed restrictions. The one day programme was conducted at Ferns Aspen Heights Resort made available to KCA by Ferns founder Errol Fernandes.

The days programme commenced early with KCA youth organising football playoffs comprising four completing teams of nine players each with a KCA member and a female player on the field mandatory at all times. After a closely contested series of matches, the tournament concluded with Team A captained by Nanja declared winners, while Team D captained by Nihal Colaco bagged the second place.

Elsewhere, the band Hard Attack was setting up their performance to keep the members rocking while the youth engaged themselves in kick boxing and boot camp, concluding with yoga under the watchful eyes of trained instructors.

A flea market comprising of 7 stalls offering various handicrafts, trinkets and other handmade products and food products and beverages added value to the members and their guests. A whole range of mattresses, pillows and covers was on display, courtesy Peps Products, who gifted pillows to the members at the venue.

A wide range of beverages was on offer to quench thirst on a hot summers day together with the choicest Mangalurean delicacies and finger licking continental cuisine catered by the Konkan & Knowhere restaurants. This ensured a well satiated group of members with nothing other than fun on their minds.

The swimming pool too adjacent to the beverage counters, opened itself to those who had to cool off in splendour. The band regaled the members and kept the dance floor rocking to its beat of retro numbers, finishing off in true Mangalurean Baila style until the floor could hold no more.

As the day slowly passed on, the action shifted indoors with the band ceding the dance floor to DJ Brandon Daly who ratched up the beat and kept the adrenaline flowing until dusk set in.

The programme was made possible with the active participation of the KCA committee and youth members who manned all stations and left no detail to chance, however small it was.

They were led by the president Hilma Roach, Jason Fernandes and Alisha Peres heading the youth of KCA Bengaluru.
