Karkala, May 4: A 28-year-old woman allegedly ended her life on May 3 at Kukkundoor here.

The deceased is identified as Shobha. As per the complaint filed by the Shobha's brother Manjunath, Shobha had married nine years ago to Lokesh of Shivamogga. Shobha along with her husband and children were residing at a house near Mutton Stall, Joddu Rasthe of Kukkundoor village.

On May 3, Shobha’s neighbours informed Manjunath that her husband Lokesh had taken her to hospital by auto-rickshaw. When the complainant visited the government hospital in Karkala, the doctors informed him about her death.

When the complainant questioned Lokesh, he informed that after consuming alcohol in the morning, he had a verbal scuffle with Shobha. After a few minutes, Shobha went to a room and closed the door. When Lokesh saw from the window, he found her hanging.

As the doors were closed, Lokesh had entered the room after opening the rooftop sheet of the bathroom. Immediately, Lokesh rushed her to a nursing home in Karkala, and the doctors there informed him to take her to the government hospital. When he rushed her to the government hospital, the doctor there confirmed her death. The police have registered a case under 174 CrPC.
