Udupi: Manipal inaugurates Manufacturing Facility, Blackfrog - Medical Device Startup

Udupi, Apr 29: Blackfrog Technologies Pvt Ltd is a Manipal-based Technology startup company developing patented technologies to improve immunization supply chains. Blackfrog is supported by MAHE Manipal incubators and funded by BIRAC, DST, Venture Centre Pune, CCAMP Bengaluru, Social Alpha, USAID-supported SAMRIDH.

Blackfrog has been deploying its vaccine transport systems across 4 corners of India and is now scaling-up manufacturing efforts to cater to the overseas market. The company has now set up a manufacturing plant in compliance with ISO 13485 standards formedical devices. The plant has a capacity of delivering up to 1500 units per month.

Dr Ranjan Pai, Chairman- MEMG, Bengaluru will be inaugurating the facility on April 29 at 5 pm. A new project by PAHAL- an innovative financing platform supported by USAID and implemented by IPE Global will be announced for the deployment of Blackfrog’s flagship product Emvolio in Kenya’s public health system to aid COVID-19 mitigation efforts and delivery of routine vaccines.

Dr Neeta Rao- senior health lead, USAID / India, Dr Manish Diwan- Head, SPED, BIRAC, Govt of India, Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh, vice chancellor, MAHE, Dr H S Ballal, pro chancellor, MAHE and Cdr (Dr) Anil Rana, director, Manipal Institute of Technology along with other dignitaries will grace the occasion.
