Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 28 (IANS): Two Kerala cadre IAS officials on Thursday tied the knot in front of their immediate family members at a temple in Ernakulam.
The marriage was solemnised between Sriram Venkitraman, presently a joint secretary and also the MD of the Kerala State Medical Service Corporation, and Alappuzha District Collector Renu S. Raj.
Venkitraman was arrested in 2019 and was suspended from service after he along with a lady friend Wafa Firoz, who was driving the car at a high speed, hit and killed a journalist who was in a two-wheeler.
After being suspended for a while, he was reinstated in 2020. He is currently out on bail in the case.
While this is the first marriage of Venkitraman, it is the second for Renu.
Venkitaraman hails from Kochi, while his bride is from Kottayam district.
