Udupi: State tech panel for mandatory wearing of masks at public places

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (HB/EP)

Udupi, April 27: With the rapid rise in Covid-19 cases on a daily basis in Karnataka, the state Covid technical advisory committee has suggested compulsory wearing of masks at public places to reduce the number of Covid cases and control the spread of the pandemic.

As there is a spike in the number of fresh Covid cases in the states of Delhi, Haryana and the neighbouring Tamil Nadu, wearing of masks in public places has been made mandatory in Karnataka as well.

Similarly, spitting in public is a punishable offence. Legal action according to the guidelines of the local administration will be taken in case of violations. A minimum of two feet distance should be maintained between each other while dealing in public places, stated deputy commissioner Kurma Rao M.
