Mangaluru: Ruby Merlin Pinto bags first rank, gold medal in MSc Mathematics

Mangaluru, Apr 26: Ruby Merlin Pinto was bestowed a gold medal for securing the first rank in MSc Mathematics at Mangalore University. Merlin received the medal from the Governor of Karnataka, Thawar Chand Gehlot, during the convocation ceremony which was held on April 23 in university campus, Konaje.

Ruby Merlin Pinto, a native of Bejai, Mangaluru and daughter of Robert Caithan Pinto and Matilda Pinto. She stood first among all affiliated colleges in MSc Mathematics. Earlier, she had secured the silver medal in BSc Physical Sciences at St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru.

Ruby had been availing the prestigious Inspire scholarship from the department of Science and Technology, government of India during my Bachelor's and Master's. She is currently working at St Aloysius College in the department of Undergraduate Mathematics and taking up a certificate course for students of BSc.
