CM holds meeting for Silver Jubilee Edition of Bengaluru Tech Summit

Bengaluru, Apr 25: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday held at meeting with top executives of industries and senior officials to begin preparations to conduct the Silver Jubilee edition of Bengaluru Tech Summit- 2022 (BTS-22)-flagship technological event of the state and
country, in a big way.

The Chief Minister launched the logo of the BTS-2022 to kick off the preparations.

The Bengaluru Tech Summit- 2022 is scheduled to be held from November 16-18, Dr CN Ashwath Narayan, Minister for Electronics and IT/BT said on Monday. He made this announcement in a curtain-raiser press meet after holding a meeting for more than three hours in this connection with CXOs (Chief Experience Officers) of leading companies in the presence of the Chief Minister.

The event with the tagline ‘Tech for Next Generation’ will be held in physical format at Bengaluru Palace premises and for the first time pre-events of BTS will be held in foreign countries including the USA, the UK, and Japan, Minister informed.

To mark the 25th edition of the event in a significant way preparations have been begun seven months prior, he pointed out.

The government will ensure promoting Web 3.0 and Metaverse technologies and aims to take the benefits of these developments to the remote villages by framing suitable policies, he said.

As per the industry experts, the demand for human resources in the IT-related domain may go up to 55 lakhs in the next years from the current 25 lakhs and the government will plan accordingly, Dr Narayan remarked.

The government has come out with ‘Karnataka Data Centre Policy-2022’ recently and aims to attract Rs 10,000 crore in this domain in the next 5 years, he said.

Mangaluru to be Fin Tech Cluster:

Under the ‘Beyond Bengaluru’ initiative, Mysuru has been identified as the ‘Cyber Security’ cluster, Hubballi as the ‘ESDM & AI’ cluster, Mangaluru as the ‘Fin Tech’ cluster, and Belagavi as the ‘Aerospace’ cluster, he explained.

Further, he said KDEM (Karnataka Digital Economy Mission) has been established to ensure reaching the above objectives and contributing 1.5 Trillion Dollar economy from the state for the 5 Trillion Dollar economy of the country as set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said the support and cooperation of the industry were sought in the meeting with CXOs to enable the hassle-free implementation of 30 weeks of internship which has been made mandatory for professional courses.
