VP Venkaiah Naidu inaugurates Khelo India University Games

Bengaluru, Apr 24: Vice President Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the Khelo India University Games 2021 at the Sri Kanteera Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru on April, 19 Sunday.

Governor Thaawar Chand Ghelot, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Union Minister of State for Sports, Youth and Communication Anurag Singh Thakur, Higher Education Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, Sports and Youth Services Minister K C Narayana Gowda, MP PC Mohan, MLA Govind Raj and others attended the programme.

Earlier, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu addressed a gathering at the Bengaluru Press Club on ``Media’s Role in New India.’’

The Vice President urged the media to function independently without being obligated to any political parties and serve its readers in a free and fair manner. Media must function as the watchdogs of democracy, he said.

MP P C Mohan, Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner J Manjunath, Bengaluru Press Club President Sadashiva Shenoy, Vice President Shyam Prasad, Secretary H V Kiran and others attended the meeting.
