Kundapur: Health sector given priority after Covid – Shobha Karandlaje

Kundapur, Apr 23: “Awareness of health and protecting our health is very important in present times. Only when we are healthy, our families will be happy. Union and state governments are giving priority to health sector after the onset of Covid. Mammoth health conventions are held in every taluk of the country as per the call given by PM Modi,” said Shobha Karandlaje, union minister.

Shobha was speaking after inaugurating the huge health convention and programmes awareness campaign that was held at the campus of Kundapur sub-divisional government hospital on Saturday, April 23. The programme was organized under the aegis of various organizations.

Shobha further said, “Women are careless about their health. Go and get yourself checked even if you feel slightly uneasy. Do not hesitate. Union government is providing Rs five lac compensation to poor people under Ayushman card. Get this card as it will help during difficult times.”

The programme was presided over by MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty. Kiran Kumar Kodgi, vice president of state food and civil supplies corporation, Mattaru Ratnakara Hegde, president of coastal development authority, Veena Bhaskar Mendon, president of town municipality, Vijay S Poojary, president of city planning authority, deputy commissioner Kurma Rao, CEO of zilla panchayat Dr Naveen Bhat, AC K Raju, district health and family welfare officer Dr Nagabhushana Udupa H and taluk health officer Dr Rajeshwari were present.

Medical expert of Kundapur public hospital Dr Nagesh and Dr Premanand ASSIA nominated officer, who was awarded district level best service award for service in health sector were felicitated on the occasion.

Dr Robert Rebello, administrative surgical medical officer of the hospital welcomed the gathering. Lecturer Akshay Hegde Molahalli compered the event.
