Bosco George back in Goa

Apr 20: On his first visit to Delhi, after being sworn in as Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant got many IPS and IAS transferred out of the state, while others into the state.

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) cleared the transfers with immediate effect on the day the CM was in Delhi.

Amongst the most prominent officers to be reinstated in Goa was Bosco George who was transferred from Arunachal Pradesh to Goa.

Bosco George received Director Generals insignia for excellence in 2017, Chief Minister's Gold Medal for Meritorious Service in 2017 and Indian Police Medal (IPM) for Meritorious Service in 2015. In the Republic Day awards, Bosco George was awarded President’s Police Medal Bosco George for Distinguished Service

In 2013, Bosco George held full-time charge as SP, ACB. The officer who is likely to retire on superannuation in 2014 has already completed 34 years of service this month. He has also held the south district SP charge for four years before being transferred to Coastal Police.
On January 5, 2021, he was from Goa to Arunachal Pradesh as secretary to the Governor B. D. Mishra who is a former brigadier of the Indian Army. On his transfer to Arunachal Pradesh, IPS officer Abhishek Dhania was transferred from Delhi to Goa to take charge as Superintendent of Police.

Other officers transferred in today reshuffle are: Omvir Singh transferred from Chandigarh to Goa; Paramaditya transferred from Goa to Delhi; V. Canavalou (1997) transferred from Andaman and Nicobar Island (ANI) to Goa; Sanjeev Ahuja (2008) transferred from ANI to Goa; Sandip Jacques (2009) transferred from ANI to Goa and Subhash Chandra (2009) from Delhi to Goa.

Those officers who have been shunted out of Goa are Sanjay Gihar (2008), Tariq Thomas (2011) Chokha Ram Rarq (2008), Vandana Rao (2015) and Hemant Kumar (2013) from Goa to Delhi. Vivek H.P. (2016) from Goa to Arunachal Pradesh.
