Mangaluru: Container vehicle catches fire near Panambur NMPT main gate

Mangaluru, Apr 11: Fire was witnessed at Panambur NMPT main gate between the vehicle cabin and the back portion of a container vehicle with registration no. HR-55 AA 2078 at about 7.30 PM on Monday, April 11 when the vehicle was on its way from Goa to Thrissur.

Ravindra Kumar Chowdari, Uttar Pradesh, the driver of the vehicle parked the vehicle on the side of the road.

The Hoysala police arrived at the spot, summoned the NMPT fire brigade and doused the fire. The local people also helped in the operation. However, no casualty was reported and the traffic not disrupted. 

The vehicle is not damaged in the incident. It is said that a short circuit caused the fire.
