Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School celebrates Kindergarten Sports Day

Mangaluru, Mar 16: LCS Sports Week for the Kindergarten students of Lourdes Central School from March 7 to 11 was organized to instill the value of sports and exercise amongst the students and encourage them to be active and healthy. KG1 students took part in the Running Race and Zig-Zag Race, while activities like Hopping Race and Hula hoops Race were conducted for the KG2 Students.

Artistic Calligraphy Competition was also conducted for KG1 students and Paragraph Writing Competition for KG2 Students on March 4. The event was open to all the Kindergarten Students. The winners were awarded with certificates. The activity mainly focused on subject enrichment where in all students inculcated the value of neat handwriting.

The finale was held on March 12. The programme was presided over by the principal Fr Robert D’souza, Fr Anush and vice-principal Belita Mascarenhas.

The principal Fr Robert D’souza in his message on this occasion, said that sports activity is not for a day or for a week but we have to have sports and games in our lives on daily basis to keep ourselves fit and energetic. He also encouraged to play games regularly to keep our bodies fit.

The winners of different events were felicitated with medals and certificates on this occasion.
