Mangalore, Dec 25: Christmas celebration at Infant Jesus Shrine, Bikarnakatte began with melodious Carol singing at 7 pm.
Br James from Kolkotta with a variety of Carols created an atmosphere of heavenly peace. The Holy Eucharist with 7 priests concelebrating began at 8 pm. Fr George Santhumayor, the Superior, incensed the Infant Jesus statue while the choir sang Glory to God in the highest.
Fr Stephen Pereira in his Homily explained the mystery of God becoming man. He entreated the devotees to have Christmas with Christ.
After the Eucharist, the sweetness of Christmas was shared with the distribution of cakes and a variety of entertainment programmes followed as people wished each other a happy feast of Christmas.
