Shivamogga: Lorry crosses divider, rams into car - Two killed

Shivamogga, Jan 28: A lorry suddenly crossed the road divider near the Jedikatte weighbridge in Bhadravathi town in the city and rammed into a car. Two occupants of the ill-fated car were killed on the spot in the incident which occurred on Thursday January 27.

BJP leader Shanmukha Naidu (48) and Ramachandrappa (50), who runs a paan shop, were killed.

Shanmukha Naidu was taking Ramachandrappa with him to Thirthahalli when the lorry which was coming from the direction of Shivamogga hit the car. Lorry driver fled from the accident scene. Both the bodies were taken to government hospital where they were released to family members after post-mortem.

A case was registered in this respect by the traffic police station personnel.
