Education minister hints at reopening of schools in Karnataka

Bengaluru, Jan 27 (IANS): Karnataka Education Minister B.C. Nagesh on Thursday hinted at reopening of schools for the students of Class of 1-9 in Bengaluru.

"Since Covid-19 cases in Bengaluru are coming down, I will seek an opinion in the cabinet on reopening of schools," he said.

The schools for 1 to 9 standard in Bengaluru were closed as a precautionary measure for two reasons. The Covid positivity was higher during the third wave in Bengaluru. The rate was higher than the state average, he said.

"We didn't know how the third wave was going to unfold and keeping child safety in mind precaution has been taken," he said.

"If 1 to 9 standard classes are open, the education department is ready to conduct classes. The Covid cases have been reported in single to four digits. However, the pattern of the increase in numbers has been fearful," the Minister said.

Nagesh said the Covid cases were reported in more numbers in the residential hostels.

After the precautions now there also cases have been reduced. Exams are nearing for students, he stated.

Mr. Nagesh, your bright, happy, sun shiny clothes and sweet smile does nothing for the souls of tired, overwhelmed, parents, who are as fed up as the rest of the world about the myriad problems china dumped on us. Kindly understand the problems of the parents and children,. Stop advocating rubbish views that symptoms in children are MILD. NO RESEARCH HAS BEEN DONE PROPERLY TO PROOVE HOW DANGEROUS THIS IS FOR UNVACCINATED LITTLE CHILDREN WHERE LONG TERM EFFECTS ARE CONCERNED. CHILDREN BELOW 15 ARE VULNERABLE IN CASE YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M SAYING. YOUR EXPERT COMMITTEE COMPRISING OF OLDER BRAIN DEAD FOGGIES ARE ONLY HELL BENT ON REOPENING SCHOOLS TO HARASS THE POPULATIONS WHO HAVE NO SAY IN THE MATTER. EGO IS RULING EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW AND LITTLE INNOCENT LIVES WILL BE EFFECTED THANKS TO a few irresponsible persons who have only ulterior motives to feed. It's a crying shame you people do not see beyond just school reopening.... The endless trauma and stress and tension parents face with every cough cold and fever, the hospital and medical bills which are PAID FOR BY PARENTS NOT YOUR GREAT EXPERTS AND THE UNCERTAINTY OF WHAT HAPPENS.... IF IT IS OUR LITTLE CHILD FALLING IN THAT 1 OR 2 PERCENT UNLUCKY CATEGORY WHICH DOES NOT SURVIVE YOUR " MILD " SYMPTOMS. AT SUCH TIMES MR. NAGESH YOUR BRIGHT HAPPY SMILE DOES NOT HOLD ANY HOPE FOR US WHATSOEVER.
