Udupi, Jan 27: "Students can register success in their lives if they have specific goals and dreams. To achieve success, they need to put efforts on a regular basis," said Bishop of Udupi diocese, Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo.

He was congratulating the students at a programme organized to facilitate talented Christian students at Karkala Christ King church hall. The programme was organized jointly on Wednesday January 26 by Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh and John D'Silva Foundation.

"There are excellent talents among the Christian students and there is a need to put them to use in a proper way. We are currently living in a competitive society. Competition has become a way of life in every aspect. The field of education is not an exception. Therefore, the parents should inspire their children from a young age to have a specific goal and to dream about achieving it," he advised. He also wished that in the coming days, students from the community will shine in government services too.

On this occasion, students from Kallianpur, Udupi, Shirva, Kundapur and Karkala blocks who scored highest marks in PU and SSLC examinations were honoured by presenting them cash rewards.

Chairman of John D'Silva Foundation, John Gladys D'Silva, president of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, Mary D'Souza, immediate past president Robert Menezes, convener of the programme, Dr Gerald Pinto, treasurer Gerald Rodrigues, and vice president of parish council of the church, Antony Aranha, were present.

Mary D'Souza welcomed. Secretary Gregory P K D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks. Olivia D'Mello compered the programme.
