Nursing college in Karkala to open this year

Karkala, Jan 27: State minister for energy, Kannada and culture, V Sunil Kumar, revealed that the government has approved the plan of starting BSc nursing course in the government hospital here from this year onward.

Kumar said that a proposal to start the said course in order to help talented students belonging to poor families living in the rural belt of the taluk had been submitted to the government. The BSc nursing college with 40 seats will initially start this year. The officials concerned have been asked to provide rules and policies governing such colleges, he stated.

A release from the office of the minister said that a new industrial training institute, a government polytechnic college, Karnataka German Technology Training Institute etc have also been sanctioned here and this will help even the students of medical sector, he added.
