London: MUKA Brings in X'Mas Fun with Carols

London, Dec 13: The Mangalorean United Konkani Association (MUKA), Nottingham (UK), organized Christmas carols on Saturday December 11 here and surrounding areas, covering Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Mansfield. Despite severe cold and snow around, the enthusiastic carol singers brought the joy of Christmas to the families with their melodious Konkani and English carols along with the Christmas message. The event began at 10.00 am and lasted till 9.00 pm covering a total distance of about 160 miles.

 The young and old alike joined together and shared the joy and peace of Christmas. The Santa was the star attraction and was presented by Vincent D’Souza, who made children happy by distributing gifts and goodies. Deepak Alvares led the choir with guitar which was well appreciated by all. Transport was sponsored by Stany Sequeira and Conrad Aranha.

MUKA executive committee thanks all the members and families for their support and active participation.

The Mangalorean United Konkani Association (MUKA) is a community based organization serving people of Konkani background. MUKA is an initiative of Konkani speaking people, which came into existence in 2006 with an objective to bring Konkani speakers under one roof and organize few programmes for its members. Until now the association has organized successfully Christmas and Easter Celebrations, summer day out and other spiritual activities like retreats.

Natal 2010 on Dec 25

MUKA is pleased to announce Christmas Celebration -"Natal 2010" on December 25 on the Christmas day at St Theresa’s Church Hall, Kingsbury Drive, Aspley, Nottingham NG8 3EP from 4.00 pm until 8.00 pm. All are cordially invited with the family for this grand celebration. The event is free of charge.
