Puttur: Passenger attacks traffic controller - Accused held

Puttur, Jan 15: A passenger had assaulted a traffic controller at Puttur and obstructed him from discharging his duties. The incident had occurred in the KSRTC bus stand here on Thursday January 13. The personnel of the town police station here have since arrested the accused.

The arrested accused has been identified as Ashraf, a resident of Surathkal near Mangaluru. He had assaulted Subrahmanya Bhat, traffic controller, Puttur.

Subrahmanya Bhat had mentioned in his complaint that the accused had approached him to question about Kerala bus to travel to Kanhangad. Later, the passenger assaulted him and posed a threat to his life, he added.

Bhat had got himself admitted into the government hospital here and complained to the police.
