Tumakuru, Jan 14: A person had filed complaint with the police about having been assaulted. He also requested the police to arrest his assaulters. As the police did not act, he repeatedly requested them but the police sub-inspector gave him a haughty response. The complainant then went to the district superintendent of police. The SP who heard him, sent his car to the police station. The SI and staff were dumbstruck when the complainant arrived in the car belonging to the SP and promised to act on the complaint.

This incident happened in Tumakuru. Referring to the incident, district superintendent of police, Rahul Kumar Shahapurwad, said that his action was driven by the aim of providing justice to the complainant and to educate the SI to do his duty without having to face disciplinary action.

Four days back, Nagendrappa and Shivaprakash from Kodihalli within Dandinashivara police station limits, had fought. Shivakumar and Chandan had reportedly assaulted Nagendrappa. Nagendrappa had filed a complaint but sub-inspector (SI), Shivalingaiah, had not arrested the accused.

Everyday Nagendrappa used to approach the SI for action but he used to give evasive replies. On Wednesday, Nagendrappa went to the police station at which the SI asked him to bring a rented car. Nagendrappa then complained to the SP on Thursday.

SP Rahul Kumar immediately sent his office car with Nagendrappa which shocked the SI. The staff felt that the SP had arrived along with Nagendrappa. The SI assured to arrest the concerned soon but the SP's car remained parked in front of the police station till night after its arrival on Thursday evening.
