Doha, Dec 4: The second cooking contest “Atilda Birsadige” hosted by Tulu Koota Qatar turned out to be a big success with wide range of traditional mouth-watering authentic food items prepared and exhibited
by our own koota members here at ICC Ashoka hall on Friday December 3.

Devi Dass Ashwani, main sponsor of the event, Milan Arun, head of Affiliation and Councilor Services, ICC, Felix Lobo, managing director, Qatar Meta Coat, and Syed Abdul Hye, senior citizen and the former president of KMCA were present on the dais.



















































Milan, Felix Lobo, Syed and the koota president Ramachandra Shetty addressed the gathering and thanked all the participants, team members for their participation and dishing out variety of food items originated from the coastal Karnataka region. Koota members who took part in the contest were Akshatha Hegde,  Divakar Poojary, Sudhakar Shetty,  Vani Prakash Rao,Mohd.  Sujatha Amin, Prarthana Shetty, Mumtaz Syed Abdul Hye, Vishaka Kamath   Shobha R Shetty,Veena V Rao,Harini R Rai, Savitha Rao,Sharmila Hegde ,Padmashree Shetty,Mummunni, and Jyoti Rathnakar

More than 35 numbers of mouth-watering dishes were prepared by koota family. Various type of salad  and snacks displayed. Chakkuli, Pundi, Yetti Pundi, Pathrode, Drumstick leaves dosa, Non-veg Chillies, Tongue
Tickling Fusion Cutlet, Veg Pakoda, Arepuda Adye, Kaaye Kaduru, Royal Indian Pudding, in dessert delicious Carrot in a cone, Rice, Kadle da payasa, in the main course Mutton Biryani, Chicken Biryani, Mirchi Masala, Mangalorean Cuisine, Mushroom Masala, Semige, Hari Bhari Herbs Rice, Moode Gunda, Chicken Sukka, Kori Gashi, Mutton Curry and Pineapple Menaskai among others.

The special attraction of the event was the display of “Atilda Kone” (Kitchen Room) which reminded the tradition kitchen of Tulu nadu.
 
Prizes were distributed by the guests of honour to the following winners in different categories.

Salads

Winner: Divakar Poojary, 1st Runnerup Sudhakar Shetty, 2nd Runnerup Sharmila Hegde, Judges Choice Divakar Poojary

Desserts

Winner Veena V Rao, 1st Runnerup Harini R Rao, 2nd Runnerup Vishaka Kamath, Judges Choice Vishaka Kamath

Main Dish:-
Winner: Jyoti Ratnakar, 1st Runnerup Veena V Rao, 2nd Runnerup Shoba R Shetty, Judges Choice Mumtaz Abdul Hye

Snacks:
Winner: Vishaka Kamath, 1st Runnerup Veena V Rao, 2nd Runnerup Savitha R Rao, Judges Choice Vishaka Kamath

The panel of judges included Marsel John D'Cruze, from Doha Marriot Hotel, Ratnakar of Hotel Swagath, Najma and Malathi Hegde.

The local artistes kept the audience entertained with live music and few super hit songs including ever green hits of Late Mohammed Rafi and Kishore Kumar. The troupe of the artistes was led by  Imtiaz Hasan Khanzada, Javeed Bajwa, Jamsheed Batwa, and Leela Rajesh. Milan Arun also joined the band and sang a beautiful super hit tamil song which left the audience mesmerized.

The ATS (Advanced Technical Services) team also presented a short skit on the occasion.

 Padma Roshan Shetty compered the complete event whileAkshata Hegde delivered the vote of thanks. The event was co-ordinated by Archana N Shetty, Kiran Anand, Sandesh, Padmashree Shetty and Akshata Hegde.

Nasser Bin Khaled & Sons Trading Company was the main sponsor of the event.

    Active participation, delicious-mouthwatering dishes, excellant decoration by ladies of Tulukoota made it a huge success. It was an evening with a difference, as we were treated to some fine music on one hand and delicious traditional dishes on the other hand.
