Karkala: Cleanliness campaign held by Nandalike Abbanadka Friends Club

Karkala, Dec 6: “Everybody should participate in the maintenance of a clean environment. Epidemics go away because of the clean atmosphere. Our cleanliness campaign will be successful if the people in our village cooperate,” said Abbandka Durgaparameshwari Friends Club president Prashanth Poojary.

He was speaking after setting in motion the cleanliness campaign and Shramadana held in the cooperation of Nehru Yuva Kendra Udupi, Nandalike gram panchayat and Nandalike Abbanadka Friends club as part of Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary celebrations.

Garbage, sticks, plastics, bottles and other trash was cleared from either sides of the road and vicinity from Abbanadka to Manjarapalke.

Friends club convener Sandeep V Poojary, founder president Inna Vittal Moolya, cleanliness programme director Nandalike Rajesh Kotian, Balakrishna Madiwal, vice president Suresh Abbanadka, joint secretary Pushpa Kulal, treasurer Veena Poojary, women’s wing organizing secretary Sandhya Shetty, Bhajana mandali president Sulochana Kotian, secretary Harinakshi Poojary, Abbanadka Friend’s club members Harish Poojary, Keerthan Kumar, Prashanth Bola, Lalita Acharya, Leela Poojary, Harini Poojary, Padmashree Poojary, Arati Kumary, Ashwini Prabhaker, Bhajana Mandali member Asha Acharya and others were present.
