Day of sick observed on first day of annual feast of St Joseph Vaz Shrine, Mudipu

Mangaluru, Dec 2: Day of sick and suffering was observed as a preparation of the annual feast of St Joseph Vaz on Thursday December 2. Fr Anil Fernandes SVD was the main celebrant.

In his homily, he said, “Our suffering has a reason. We need to understand that reason and accept our sufferings in order to fill what is lacking in the suffering of Jesus. When we have strong faith in Jesus and surrender our sufferings to him in prayer and supplication, we experience healing.” He also conducted healing adoration and prayed over sick and the sufferings.

Fr Assisi Rebello, shrine director, Fr Richard D’Souza concelebrated the Eucharist. Fr Vijay Machado compered the liturgical celebrations. Deacon Vivek Deepak Pinto was at the service of the altar. Many devotees and pilgrims all over the diocese took part in the Eucharistic celebration.
