Puttur: Youth taking bath in river goes missing

Puttur, Dec 2: In an incident reported from Bollaru in Nekkilady village near Uppinangady which happened on Wednesday December 1 evening, a youth who was taking bath in River Netravati went missing.

The man who disappeared in this fashion was Sukmo Ram Gawade (19) from Kosaraunda Tadauke, Chhattisgarh. He was employed with Swarnabhoomi Borewell. The lorry pertaining to the borwell is parked everyday in Bollaru near the petrol bunk. Five labourers of north Indian origin including Sukmo Ram had together entered the river for bath. However, Gawade was washed away in the water the moment he stepped into the river, his friend Ratnu Samved, stated.
