Hassan, Dec 1: In a fistfight between two factions of the BJP, which happened after the electioneering meeting, one person was left injured. The meeting was held relating to the council election, in which two factions owing allegiance to two people's representatives got involved in a free for all. A person who was injured in this melee was hospitalised.

As soon as the meeting began, supporters of BJP leaders N R Santhosh and Annaykanahalli Vijikumar, began to exchange allegations and counter allegations at each other in the presence of district in-charge minister K Gopalaiah, BJP state secretary Ravikumar, and MLC candidate Vishwanath. The scene soon turned chaotic.

Some people raised slogans of 'Santhosh Go Back' on this occasion. They also accused the supporters of Santhosh of hoisting false caste abuse cases against them. They also expressed stiff resistance to Santhosh being given a seat on the dais. After the din, the minister counselled both sides and succeeded in brokering peace.
