Mangaluru: Sacrament of Confirmation administered at Angelore church

Mangaluru, Nov 24: The celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation was held on November 23 at Guardian Angel Church, Angelore. 

Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, bishop of Mangalore along with Fr William Menezes parish priest and Fr Lawrence Cutinha, assistant parish priest concelebrated the Holy mass of confirmation. In his homily, the bishop highlighted the significance of the sacrament of confirmation. He emphasized that the holy spirit gives them the increased ability to practice the faith of Christian life. He gave a call to all children to be the messengers of Jesus Christ and bear witness to Christ in every situation of their life.

Around 69 children received the sacrament of confirmation on this day. The catechism for confirmation was held prior to the mass by the bishop. He highlighted on the gifts and fruits of the holy spirit and explained the importance of invoking the holy spirit and praying to the holy spirit.

At the end, Fr William Menezes greeted and thanked the bishop for officiating the sacrament and conferring children and Fr Lawrence Cutinha, Fr Flavian Lobo and sisters and everyone involved in preparing the children for confirmation. He congratulated all the children for receiving the sacrament of confirmation.
