New York Mayor Called Obama the Most Arrogant Man He Ever Met


New York, Nov 6 (IANS) New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg had once said that a conversation with Barack Obama was "like verbal ping pong" and that the US president was the "most arrogant man" he had ever met, according to a media report.

Bloomberg had called on Obama, during the latter's vacation at Martha's Vineyard in August. He played a round of golf at the Vineyard Golf Club, along with a few other officials.

Bloomberg and Obama talked in the clubhouse for about 15 minutess about the economy. Apparently, the conversation did not go well, and Bloomberg "came back and said 'I never met in my life such an arrogant man', media magnate Rupert Murdoch was quoted as saying by The Australian Financial Review.

Murdoch said: "Bloomberg said it was a pleasant day. In conversation he put a few ideas He said it was like verbal ping pong."

A spokesman for Bloomberg, however, did not respond to a request for comment, ABC news reported.

Murdoch, Australia-born founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of the News Corporation, which owns Fox News Channel and the New York Post amomg others, later said that Obama "might make great speeches but doesn't get things done and doesn't listen to anybody".
