51 students of Udupi diocese awarded scholarship worth Rupees 3 lac

Udupi, Oct 21: "Students should give much importance to the education which imparts humanitarian values," said Udupi women Police station PSI Violet Femina.

She was speaking at a scholarship distribution program organized in the leadership of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh along with in memory of Late Theresa Cornelio and other donors. The programme was held at Mother of Sorrows Church auditorium on Wednesday October 20, 2021.

"Students in current scenario should focus on the education which fosters their talents and give utmost importance to the humanitarian values. Students should build ability to counter abuses with bravery. The habit of being suppressed to abuses should be stopped," she said.

Speaking on the occasion social worker Veronica Cornelio advised students to put their efforts and practice to avail success in life.

Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves, spiritual director Catholic Sabha Udupi on the occasion said, "Students who have availed scholarships should make use of this scholarship effectively. Students should also help others and achieve greater heights," he said.

51 students of Udupi diocese were awarded scholarship worth rupees 3 lac.

Mary D'souza, president Catholic sabha Udupi Pradesh presided over the function. Dr Gerald Pinto, convener Walter Cyril Pinto, Alphonse D'costa, Elroy Kiran Crasto, Alwyn Quadrous, Felix Pinto were present on the occasion.

Santhosh Cornelio, immediate president proposed vote of thanks. Olivia D'mello, joint secretary compered the programme.
