Bantwal: Lightning destroys handicapped poor man's house

Bantwal, Oct 14: In an incident which happened at midnight on Tuesday, a house belonging to a handicapped person living in abject poverty got demolished. The incident happened in Kolnadu village near Vittal, and the family members are safe.

The house in question belonged to Kadumatt Kadepikeri Krishnappa from Kolnadu village. The lightning sliced through the house and the walls of the house developed cracks. As a mud wall supporting the backside wall crashed, the house suffered heavy damage.

Immediately after the incident, Krishnappa's brother took the shocked family members to his house. Electrical equipment, wiring, clothes, utensils etc suffered extensive damage. The poor family, which is already in dire straits, is shaken by this unfortunate incident.

Kolnadu gram panchayat vice president Subhashchandra Shetty Kulalu, panchayat development officer Rohini and local members including village accountant Anil, visited the spot.
