Udupi: MAHE felicitates Sub Kashinath Naik Commonwealth medallist, Ekalavya Awardee

Udupi, Oct 13: Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) felicitated Sub Kashinath Naik- an Ekalavya Awardee and 2010 Commonwealth games medallist who has also trained the Olympian medallist Neeraj Chopra.

Pro-chancellor, Dr H S Ballal, vice-chancellor Lt Gen Dr MD Venkatesh, registrar, Dr Narayan Sabhahit, MAHE, members of Sports Council MAHE and Udupi District Athletic Association were present at the felicitation ceremony and wishes him the best for all his future endeavors.

Kashinath Naik visited Marena Sports Complex, at MAHE and was live on the Manipal Academy of Higher Education's official Instagram page. He attributes his achievements and success to the Indian Army and said, “Hard work, smart training technicalities leads to the success of athletes”.

Dr H S Ballal, pro chancellor, MAHE further mentioned how Kashinath is training a lot of budding athletes from Karnataka. He also spoke about how academics, as well as sports, is given importance in MAHE. MAHE also has a world-class sports complex for its students, MARENA. MAHE is an institute of eminence that focuses on the development of an individual.

Lt Gen Dr MD Venkatesh, vice-chancellor,MAHE, presented the preamble to Sub Kashinath Naik and appreciated gurus like him for giving gold medal winners to our nation and mentioned at any prospect, MAHE will be ready to collaborate appropriately. Currently, he is training Karishma Sanil a gold-medalist from Udupi, who will be participating in the 60th National Open Athletics Championship in the Under-23 category.
