Kundapur: 106th branch of SCDCC bank inaugurated at Shankarnayana

Kundapur, Oct 11: “Cooperative societies do not get merged. They provide economic strength to the people and encourage them to be self-dependent. South Kanara district central cooperative bank is a people's bank. It goes to the people and works,” said SCDCC bank president M N Rajendra Kumar.

He was speaking after inaugurating the 106th branch of the bank at Shankarnarayana and presiding over the hall programme.

“A vehicle will be provided for Udupi so that the bank can go to the people. The bank will go to the people in the rural areas and provide them monetary strength. Navodaya Sanghas should be given prominence for self-help. Exploitation for interest should stop. The schemes are being planned in order to lend loans at lesser rates of interests,” he said.

Shankarnarayana cooperative society president K Sachidananda Vaidya inaugurated the computer facilities in the bank. Shankarnarayana gram panchayat president Latha Santhosh Devadiga inaugurated the strong room. SCDCC bank former director G S Hariprasad Achar congratulated.

Building owner H Sadashiva Nayak, Udupi district cooperative union president Jayakar Shetty Indrali, agriculture produce marketing committee president Kanmakki Hariprasad Shetty, KMF director Gopalakrishna Kamath, SCDCC bank chief executive in charge, Ravindra B, directors K Harischandra, B Ashok Kumar Shetty and cooperative association president were present.

Building owner H Sadashiva Nayak and Shankarnarayana branch manager in charge Chandrashekar Shetty were felicitated. Divya and Prathiksha sang a prayer. SCDCC bank director S Raju Poojary rendered vote of thanks. Journalist Subrahmanya Padukone compered the programme.
