Kundapur: Oxygen generating plant inaugurated at government hospital

Kundapur, Oct 7: “It is a matter of joy that a plant that generates about 500 litres of oxygen is installed in Kundapur. People from three districts are arriving for treatment at Kundapur government hospital. Therefore the oxygen will be used by three districts. The efforts of the MP, MLA and officials for the oxygen plant were successful when Covid pandemic was widespread,” said Veena Bhasker, president of Kundapur municipal council.

She was speaking after inaugurating an oxygen generating plant for use by the department of health and family welfare, Udupi district administration and district panchayat, Arogya Raksha Samithi and sub divisional public hospital Kundapur on Thursday.

Kundapur assistant commissioner Raju K said that Karnataka is leading in the country in controlling Covid 19. “Kundapur taluk hospital has provided excellent service as a model hospital,” he said.

Kundapur taluk health officer Dr Rajeshwari, Kundapur municipal council vice president Sandeep Kharvi, council member Devaki Sannayya, Kundapur town project authority president Vijaya S Poojary, Mangaluru Gail India Limited deputy general manager S Vijayananda and Koteshwar Lion club’s Eknath Bolar were present.

Kundapur public hospital’s Dr Robert Rebello welcomed. Veena Shashi Kiran compered the programme. Covid warriors were congratulated on the occasion.
