Kundapur: Bunts Sangha facilitates GP members, Asha workers

Kundapur, Sep 26: Felicitation programme of newly elected gram panchayat and town municipality members of Byndoor and Kundapur taluks of the Bunt community and Asha workers who worked relentlessly in containing Covid was held on Saturday, September 26 at R N Shetty auditorium in the city.

Inaugurating the programme, Ikala Harish Shetty, president of Federation of International Bunts’ associations of Mangaluru, said, “The Bunt community of Kundapur is like a huge strength for the whole Bunt community. Many political leaders have risen to the highest levels from this taluk. It is really appreciable that those from the community, who are elected as gram panchayat and town municipality members, are felicitated as they are our asset.”

“The capability and organizational ability of Bunts is marvellous. Cooperation of everyone is required for our community to strengthen further to walk in the footsteps of our forefathers. It is really appreciable that Asha workers and people representatives, who serve the society are felicitated,” said former MLA Basroor Appanna Hegde.

In total 192 members of various gram panchayats of Byndoor and Kundapur taluk, two members of town municipality and 52 Asha workers were felicitated on the occasion. Cash prizes were given to Asha workers.

President of Bengaluru Bunts’ association Upendra Shetty, vice president Amritha Shetty, chief secretary of federation of international Bunts’ associations Indrali Jayakara Shetty, treasurer Ulthoor Mohandas Shetty, Karnire Vishwanath Shetty, Kundapur convener of Buntara Yaane Nadavara Mathra Sangha Avarse Sudhakar Shetty, first class contractor Vijayananda Shetty Halnadu, Kandavara Sathish Shetty, NRI entrepreneur Vakwadi Praveen Kumar Shetty, Vatsala Dayananda Shetty Ankadakatte, honorary president of Yuva Buntara Sangha Dr Ranjan Shetty, chief secretary Udaya Kumar Shetty, treasurer Nitin Kumar Shetty, founder president Amparu Nithyananda Shetty, convener of the programme Manoraj Shetty and others were present.

Sunil Kumar Shetty, president of Kundapur taluk Yuva Bantara Sangha welcomed the gathering and did the introductory speech. The programme was compered by Akshay Hegde Molahalli.
