Karkala: Failure to arrest cattle thieves - Unique day-long Bhajans protest

Karkala, Sep 22: Serial cattle thefts have happened in Shirlalu within the limits of Ajekar police station and the thieves have gone scot free in all these cases. Demanding immediate arrest of the accused in the cattle theft cases, BJP activists, supported by various Hindu organizations, held an unbroken protest in front of Ajekar police station which was held the entire night and the following day.

The protest began on Tuesday night. A huge protest had been held by Hindu Jagarana Vedike activists at Shirlalu urging the police to act against miscreants who have often brazenly taken away the cows from the cattle sheds, duly threatening the owners by flashing sabres.

Within 30 minutes of the said protest, two cows had been transported towards Shirlalu from Muniyal. Even though the activists chased the thieves, the car had dashed against a tree at which the accused had fled. The current protest demanded the arrest of these persons too.
