Kasargod: Police seize 1,050 bottles of illicit liquor transported illegally

Kasargod, Sep 21: Manjeshwar police seized 1,050 bottles of illicit liquor, transported illegally on an auto rickshaw here on Tuesday September 21.

The incident was reported while the police were checking vehicles in Panjigaru. The auto driver fled from the spot.

It is learnt that the accused used to supply liquor from Karnataka. Acting on a tip, Manjeshwar police had asked the auto driver to stop the vehicle near Moodambail, but as the driver did not stop the vehicle, police had to chase the auto.

Later, in Panjigaru the auto driver left the vehicle on the road and fled from the spot. As many as 22 boxes full of liquor bottles were found in the vehicle. Police collected the information about the person who fled from the spot. It is gathered that he used to transport liquor from Karnataka and supply to different places.
