Bantwal: Two arrested for chain snatching

Bantwal, Sep 18: Police arrested two people in connection for snatching gold chain from a woman near Panolibail.

It is said that the accused had come on a bike to snatch gold ornaments.

It is learnt that the accused were from Puttur. The accused are Rohith (22) of Puttur Ariyapu village and Lohith (20).

Police have seized the stolen Mangalasutra and a bike used for the theft. The worth of seized things is Rs 1.35 lac, informed Bantwal town police.

It may be recalled, the accused had stolen the Mangalasutra of Vatsala (55), while she was walking near Panolibail on September 8.

As per the direction of superintendent of police Sonawane Rishikesh, additional SP Dr Shivakumar, DySP Valentin D'Souza, Bantwal rural police inspector TD Nagaraj and other staff arrested the accused.
